If science is a force for good then how do you explain..?

Atomic bombs.

Nuclear radiation.

Weapons of mass destruction.

Man made carcinogens.

Food preservatives.

Man caused climate change.

Artificial coloring.

Artificial flavoring.

Eugenics.

Electric shock therapy.

The list goes on and on and on ..

    The same way as you explain increasing lifespans, anaesthetics, the better quality of life for diabetics, the eradication of polio,…

    As for climate change, it’s science that has let us detect it, and propose solutions.

    Is your preference for ignorance just a matter of principle or do you have religious beliefs which have been punctured by our increasing knowledge of the universe?

    It is neutral. Only people are good or evil.

    The bow and arrow allowed people to hunt for food and feed their families.

    Science is a force for good because

    1. It has expanded our knowledge.

    2. Increased our life-spans.

    3. Improved our quality of life.

    4. Provided us with many conveniences.

    5. Brought leisure time to the masses.

    6. Enabled world-wide travel for the masses.

    7. Made it possible to see problems inside our bodies and detect planets in other solar systems.

    8. Removed superstition as a dominant force in the our modern societies.

    This list also goes on and on.

    Only absolutists would ignore the benefits of science, as well as the dangers.
